Experiencing more than 6 years of wearing the hijab, I know the difference between the people who stare because they are confused and want to ask questions and the people who just stare and look like they are about to shoot me. After leaving the beach today, I have broken the fear of those people who stare and want to shoot me. I just stared back, smiled, and waved.
